Welcome to "My Pride Is Killing Me!" This is my spot to share my thoughts, practice my writing skills on a daily basis, and link to news/information that I find to be of interest. I welcome the opportunity to interact with those of you who stumble upon this little blog, although I can't at this point imagine why anyone would want to read anything from me.....I guess we'll see how that progresses.
If you hang around a while you'll discover a few things about my personality and my interests. Among these discoveries will be that I'm a Christ-follower....and I struggle to live the life Christ wants of me every day. I'm a husband and father who adores his wife and has the best children in the world.....and I've disappointed them many times. I'm a school administrator with a passion for helping students achieve and for equipping teachers with the tools they need......and I'm really frustrated by the sad conditions in many schools and by the HUGE amount of interference from the federal government! I'm a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan.....and, therefore, everything about the Cubs I find distasteful. I'm acutely interested in politics.....and believe I have WAY too much common sense to be able to swallow whole what either major party is selling. I'm a believer in the rule of law.....and I'm becoming more of a libertarian every day. I love our dog......and our cats. My wife and I love our church, The Journey (http://journeyon.net) and we seek to be the "hands and feet" of Jesus every day.....and we fail regularly. I've been a student almost my entire life and I'm trying to finish my dissertation now.....and I'll always be a learner. I enjoy sharing my life with others.....and I'm also a private person.
In other words; my PRIDE is real and alive in me.....but I know if I let it guide me, it'll kill me. Hence the title. If you're looking for an easily explained, neat and tidy life; don't hang around here!
